Why sell art in a bookshop?
Excellent question. While our theme is foxing and foraging, let’s talk about peanut butter and jelly instead. Each is wonderful alone. Paired together, they create a symphony of flavors that on paper shouldn’t work.
(Just watch videos of people trying a PB&J for the first time—point made!)
The same magic happens when you combine visual arts and literature.
Once we outgrow children's books, we stop expecting illustrations. We want to change that. We agree with Pablo Picasso, who said: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” We were all children once who loved the artwork in our books.
Foxed & Foraged is simply merging the peanut butter and jelly of the arts under one quirky little roof. We want to give you a space to appreciate what you see and what you read with the same eyes. Art, in all its forms, gives voice to the heart of a generation. We want to introduce you to the voices you may not know… yet.
The Peanut Butter & Jelly Effect is upcoming this week!
Our gallery is coming together slowly but surely. We are officially putting out a call to artists who want to be a different flavor of jelly in our burgeoning online exhibit.
Check back every Thursday for updates! Until then…
Keep Foraging, my friends!
