Mae Thurston
The themes of my artwork are as varied as the mediums I use. Through oil, acrylic,watercolor, charcoal, and pen & ink, I explore the influences of music, nature, memories, and everyday life, transforming them into visual stories.Â

My work has been exhibited in galleries, art festivals, a university, a museum, local theatre lobbies, dining establishments, and numberous private collections through commissioned works.Â
​
As a lifelong learner, I continually seek opportunities to grow by attemding workshops and classes, many led by nationally recognized artists. My formal education incldues studies in Interior Design
and Fine Art.Â

In addition to my work as an artist, I have taught art classes for students ranging from kindergarten through adulthood in both group and private settings. I am also a Certified Therapeutic Life Coach..

About
Heather Busby
I grew up in In Macon, Georgia, immersed in the arts: surrounded by my mother's paintings, my father's calligraphy, my sister's love of ballet, and my own passion for theatre and creative writing. I attended the University of Georgia to study Theatre Design & Production which led to working professionally as Scenic Painter for the Highlands Playhouse in North Carolina, and as Lighting Designer for Theatre Macon.

Throughout the years, arts advocacy and education have remained a constant focus for my career path, including working as Artist in Residence at Vineville Academy for the Arts, and as Program Coordinator for the Macon Arts Alliance. I recommitted myself by creating Duir House Designs in 2017- a voice for my own visual art creations, that later evolved into WyrdSister Art, which works in commisions primarily..

To date, I have participated in numerous festivals, markets, and juried exhibits throughout Georgia. I was recognized and awarded at the First Annual Emerging Artists Exhibition at the Eclectic Company Gallery (Griffin, GA) in 2018. My work has been seen since at: the Middle GA Art Association, the 567 Center for Renewal Gallery, Triangle Arts Macon, ArtSpace Macon, the Americus Visitors Center, and The Collective in Washington, GA,
